This document presents the methodology for the generation of a generic hazard list for signalling purposes in an interlocking (kernel) system for railways. The hazards are developed using a structured approach and from a generic standpoint. Sections 1 & 2 of the document reflect the structure of the Euro-Interlocking Project High Level Requirements and the project boundaries at the time of printing. It is not envisaged that project structural changes will affect this document, and the Hazard Methodology itself should not require any changes over time other than for railways that operate in completely different ways than those of today.
